I will be sharing my top 5 golf courses in the Alps with you to help you choose your ideal alpine resort for a golf holiday in the Alps<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

These golf courses in the Alps will be listed in no particular order as the condition of them will be ever changing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Serveriano Ballesterros Course at Golf Clubs Crans sur Sierre, Crans Montana<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The first course in my top 5 golf courses in the Alps is The Serveriano Ballesteros Course at the Golf Club Crans sur Sierre in the resort of Crans Montana<\/a>. The course is home to the Omega European Masters<\/a> which is held in early September from the 7th-10th. The few days that follow this would be a great time to visit Crans Montana<\/a> and play the course just after the pro’s, being able to test yourself in like for like conditions against the best players in Europe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sat on a plateau at 1,500m, the Severiano Ballesterros course overlooks the Rh\u00f4ne valley, surrounded by spectacular scenery including the Mont Blanc and Matterhorn. Built in 1906, the course has flourished in the sun with the best players coming from all corners of the world falling victim to its beauty. Robert Trent Jones Sr at Golf Club de Chamonix<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Next up on my top 5 golf courses in the Alps is the Robert Trent Jones Sr course at the Golf Club de Chamonix, opening in 1934 with only 4 holes, it took a further year to complete the 9 holes. With land difficult to come by in the Chamonix valley the decision to extend the course to 18 holes was decided upon in 1972. Its inauguration on September 26th 1982 marked 10 years in the making of this truly stunning golf course. Since then the course has been holding the Trophe\u00e9 Maurice Herzog, an elite amateur competition for players under the handicap of 2.4, the event counts towards the world amateur golf rankings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Deep in the Chamonix valley nestled between the Mont Blanc and the Aiguilles Rouges on the valley floor, you may think that the course would be have dramatic slopes and contours, however this is not the case. The course is technical and subtle with numerous hazards and an array of bunkers it will keep any player honest, easily making it in to my top 5 golf courses in the Alps. With a great selection of luxury chalets in Chamonix<\/a> we can help you find the ideal place for you to unwind after a round.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prices for this summer will range between \u20ac56 – \u20ac91 for adults and between \u20ac40 – \u20ac64 for juniors. Proof of handicap required.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Matterhorn Golf Club, Zermatt<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

With the Matterhorn as an imposing back drop any golfer should revel at the chance to play on one of the newer golf courses in the Alps. Only a 9 hole course but nonetheless still a great challenge and an opportunity to test your skills in amongst the breathtaking scenery. With some holes running along side the famous Gornergrat railway, you’ll have to make sure you keep your composure with the train passing you by. Shank it and someone will be on the end of a ball though their scenic window!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Opened in spring 2002, the course and facilities have gone from strength to strength ensuring that all visitors and members alike have the best experience on each occasion of playing the course. With the views and standard of the course there is no wonder how this course made it into one of the top 5 golf courses in the Alps. Gstaad-Saanenland Golf Club, Gstaad<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

With stunning views over the Bernese Oberland mountain landscape, this stunning alpine golf course is surrounded by a national nature reserve. Away from any noise and traffic the course takes centre stage and has been often regarded as one of the most beautiful golf courses in Switzerland.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All are welcomed by the informal atmosphere thanks to the members and guests who understand what it is to have the privilege to play on such a course with great regularity. After your round, you are welcomed into the cosy clubhouse restaurant to enjoy some delicious specialties served up by top local chef Robert Speth. Gstaad offers a wide range of luxury summer chalets<\/a> that you can relax in after a long day of golf.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prices this summer will range from 100 CHF – 150 CHF for adults and for under 21’s there is a discount of 50%. Proof of handicap required.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Golf Club Schwarzee, Kitzb\u00fchel<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Rounding up the top 5 golf courses in the Alps is the famous Schwarzee Golf Club in Kitzb\u00fchel, Austria. Unique panoramas and fairways that will increase the heartbeat of any golfer. It’s certainly not an easy start to the course starting with a 550 yard par 5 which is wickedly followed up with the hardest hole on the course. The 462 yard par 4 second with a very tight tee shot with trees either side, it is not one you’ll want to make a hash out of.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As golf in the Alps goes, this is one of the most stunning courses. The front 9 featuring flatter fairways and more hazards and the back 9 boasts a very hilly profile making you toil right until the end of your round. Golfers can enjoy the Schwarzee course from the 1st of May right through until the end of October. The Hahnenkahmm Lodge offers the ultimate accommodation in Kitzb\u00fchel this summer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
