Following the launch of Alps in Luxury in 2017, the website has gone from strength to strength and we continue to offer some of the best luxury chalets available in the summer season. Over the last couple of months, as the ski season drew to a close, we added to the website three new resorts in the Alps for summer and with them, a number of great luxury chalets as well. So where are they and what can you expect from these alpine resorts?<\/p>\n

St Anton<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n

Widely regarded in skiing circles as one of the best ski resorts in the Alps, St Anton is also a great destination for a summer holiday in the Alps. There are an abundance of activities to enjoy as well as incredible scenery.<\/p>\n

The main high street is pedestrianised and there are some great restaurants and eateries to enjoy.<\/p>\n

Der Arlberg Adler (Arlberg Jakobi Run and Arlberg Bike Marathon) –\u00a0<\/a>21\/07 and 18\/08<\/a><\/p>\n

Chalet Narnia<\/a> is a lovely large chalet perfect for large groups or for a couple of families. The chalet has a nice enclosed garden area and an outdoor hot tub. It is also very reasonably priced at just \u20ac2,500 EUR per week on a self-catered basis.<\/p>\n

Chatel<\/a><\/strong><\/h2>\n

Part of the Portes du Soleil region that covers both Switzerland and France, Chatel is the lesser well known neighbour of Morzine<\/a> and Les Gets<\/a>. The Portes du Soleil translates into English as “Doors of the Sun” and that is precisely why this area is growing in popularity as a summer holiday destination.<\/p>\n

This amazing resort has a great range of activities to enjoy during the summer months as well as some amazing chalets at very reasonable prices.<\/p>\n

\"Chatel,<\/a><\/p>\n

\u00a0Pass’Portes du Soleil –\u00a0<\/strong><\/a>29\/06 to 01\/07<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n

A major international mountain biking event covering the full Portes du Soleil. Over 80km of marked routes head between the many resorts with pit stops along the way to try out local specialities.<\/p>\n

\u00a042nd Belle Dimanche La Fete Des Alpages –\u00a0<\/strong><\/a>19\/08<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

A local festival where shepherds and their animals gather with craftmen, musicians and folk bands to showcase local traditions. Enjoy games and watch cheese-making demonstrations.<\/p>\n

2nd Historic Ascent of Chatel –\u00a0<\/strong><\/a>15\/09 to 16\/09<\/a><\/p>\n

A demonstration of classic vehicles on closed routes in and around Chatel. Many cars are invited by vintage racing Peugeots so you can expect cars by the French marque to be the main participants.<\/p>\n

Where to stay In Chatel:<\/a><\/h3>\n

Grange Au Merle<\/a> is a beautiful, traditional, alpine farm building that has been lovingly renovated to create a gem of a luxury chalet. The high ceilings and large windows let in an abundance of light which showcase the views over the resorts and the rolling mountains beyond.<\/p>\n

Outside is a hot tub with great views. The chalet can sleep up to 15 people and is available on a self-catered basis from just \u20ac1,500 per week. That works out at a crazy \u20ac100 per person!!<\/p>\n

Alpe d’Huez<\/a><\/strong><\/h2>\n

Alpe d’Huez is as well known to cyclists as it is to skiers and for that reason it is one of the most popular summer resorts in the Alps. The infamous 21 hairpin bends up to Alpe d’Huez are a huge draw for cyclists who want to push themselves to the limit.<\/p>\n

The resorts has a great range of activities to enjoy and is widely regarded as one of the most extreme summer resorts in the Alps with regular sporting events going on throughout the summer months.<\/p>\n

Megavalance<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0–\u00a002\/07 to 08\/07<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

Thousands of mountain bikers take the departure from the famous \u201cPic Blanc\u201d come rain or shine. There’s a group start at 3,330m on the glacier and the finish line is in Allemont, 2,600m down. This makes the race the longest and craziest downhill mountain bike race in the world!<\/p>\n

Tour de France, Stage 12\u00a0 –\u00a0<\/strong><\/a>19\/07<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n

The world’s most famous road cycling tour descends onto the twisting inclines on the road up to Alpe d’Huez. Watch as famous cyclists all fight for the coveted honour of winning one of the Tour de France’s most well known stages.<\/p>\n

Triathlon Time, Alpe d’Huez –\u00a0<\/a>30\/07 to 03\/08<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n

A gruelling triathlon in and around Alpe d’Huez. Swim the calm and clear waters of the Lac du Verney, ascend the 21 bends up to Alpe d’Huez and a run in the shadow of the green and snowy peaks overlooking the resort.<\/p>\n

Chalet La Chapelle<\/a> is a large chalet offering spacious accommodation for up to 14 people. The chalet is offered on a half board basis but can also be available on a self-catered or bed and breakfast basis on request.<\/p>\n

The Chalet has a wellness suite with an indoor hot tub and a sauna, the ideal places to soothe those aching muscles after a day in the saddle.<\/p>\n

Prices are from just \u00a34,500 for exclusive use on a half board basis.<\/p>\n
