Fishing Holidays in the Alps
One of the great joys of fishing in the Alps is exploring the crystal clear streams that have rarely been fished. The Lac des Chavants in Les Houches is an ideal spot to catch trout which you then pay for locally before popping onto the evening’s BBQ. Fishing in Lac Passy is approximately 30 minutes from Chamonix, offering a stunning mountain lake to catch a variety of species.
Fishing in Morzine on the nearby Montriond Lake offers a magical setting, surrounded by cliffs and dense alpine forest. The lake is well-stocked and with Brown Trout, Rainbow Trout and Arctic Char, all of which can be a challenge to catch even for the most experienced angler.
Fly Fish Zermatt offer alpine fly fishing tours on a private lake at 2,500m and nestled in a deep valley enclosed between the mountains, dominated by the iconic Matterhorn. Beautiful natural glacier water flows through mountains and into the lake, exiting via a small waterfall. The water is extremely pure and crystal clear, making it easy to see up to two metres deep which is perfect for stalking mountain Trout. Fishing in Zermatt is an experience not to be missed.
