Summer Skiing Holidays in the Alps

It is a common misconception that you need to head to the southern hemisphere for your summer skiing fix. There are in fact opportunities for summer skiing in the Alps. A lot of people enjoy the benefits of spring skiing with longer days, warmer temperatures and bright sunshine. Everything you enjoy about Spring skiing is accentuated if you go skiing in the Alps in Summer.

The best resorts for enjoying skiing in the summer in the Alps are the high glacial resorts such as Zermatt, Saas Fee or Tignes. Glacier skiing in the summer offers quieter slopes and most people ditch the heavy winter jackets for t-shirts. The goggle and T-shirt tans are often even more prevalent. Mountain lunches are often longer and the ice-cold beer often tastes that little bit more refreshing after a day of summer skiing.

What better way to enjoy skiing in summer than in a luxury summer chalet in the Alps? Following on from your day of skiing in the summer you can head back to your luxury alpine retreat to enjoy a swim in the swimming pool or BBQ on the terrace. Summer skiing in the Alps is a completely different experience to that of winter skiing in the Alps.
