The Property

Chalet La Douceur is a beautiful former farmhouse in La Clusaz, accommodating for larger groups of 20 guests. The 340m² alpine property spreads across three floors and is tactfully divided into two fully independent apartments: Apartment Chez Germain and its smaller counterpart, Apartment Chez Joseph. Together, the two units propose a fantastic option for multiple group summer holidays in the Alps, for friends and families alike.

The interiors of Chalet La Douceur have very much retained a traditional alpine feel, abiding to the farmhouse's historical origins. Contemporary touches and open-plan layouts also feature, across both floors, to beautifully deliver complementing hints of modern luxury. On the top floor, in Chez Germain, guests will find the main lounge area, sitting under vaulted ceilings and characterful oak beams to rest on the L-shaped sofa and armchairs. Alternatively, two cosier lounge areas are also available, in each of the apartments, for the group to enjoy their own privacy. Both of these have fireplaces/stoves.

In the evenings, Chez Germain's dining area will comfortably accommodate all adults in the group for homemade meals inside the property. A smaller dining table in Chez Joseph presents a fantastic option for early children's dinners. Alternatively, head outside to dine alfresco on the balcony and terrace, in view of the golden mountain sunsets. Two fully-equipped kitchens in each apartment gives plenty of space to prepare food for large group sizes.

Outside, Chalet La Douceur really comes into its own for your summer holiday in La Clusaz. A wraparound balcony and terrace invite long hours spent absorbing the mountain sun, in view of stunning Aravis valley views. To fully appreciate the landscape before you, and for that additional touch of luxury, the chalet has an outdoor barrel sauna that's perfect for relaxation whilst looking through the fish eye lens window.

In total, Chalet La Douceur sleeps up to 20 guests across 9 bedrooms. The rooms all stick firmly to the Savoyard feel of the property with lots of exposed wood, woollen throws and a neutral colour palette. The majority of double bedrooms within the property benefit from terrace or balcony access, and en-suite facilities. Two bedrooms in Chez Germain also have space for additional beds, ideally made up as family rooms.

For extra convenience, Chalet La Douceur benefits from a boot room and laundry facilities. For self-driving guests, a garage with 4 parking spaces is also included.

Prices are based on the exclusive use of the chalet for up to 20 guests and is offered on a self-catered basis only.
