Davos Luxury Summer Chalets
Rega Pass, Switzerland
The perfect alpine summer holiday destination is Davos, Switzerland, made up of two interconnecting towns, Davos Dorf, the old town and Davos Platz, the lively and modern extension where you'll find some of the most luxurious summer chalets in Davos. Found to the east of Switzerland, Davos is the largest of the Graubünden resorts and of its neighbours, the Klosters, another popular summer alpine destination. As one of the largest mountain resorts in the Alps, it also has the claim to be the highest city in Europe, sitting at 1,150m. From this near mile-high city you can expect as much, if not more entertainment and activities in the summer months, as in the winter.
Coming alive in spring, this town stretching along the floor of a glacial valley is a honeypot for thrill seekers and nature enthusiasts alike. It owes its popularity to its secluded location along the Landwasser river, with mountains erupting to the north and south of the city, stunning waterfalls including the 100 metre fall at Sertig, and, of course, Lake Davos, perfect for sailing and windsurfing pursuits.
With a plethora of activities on offer, a summer holiday in Davos has everything from hiking trails with magnificent views, botanical gardens, golf and tennis, to zip wires, and this centrally located resort has rail connections to some of the top UNESCO World Heritage sites not only in Switzerland but in Europe. One of which is the stunning Rhaetian Railway (Albula-Bernina lines) which traverses magnificent feats of engineering with no less than 55 tunnels and 196 viaducts and bridges.
The mountains Pischa, Jakobshorn and Rinerhorn are to the south and Schatzalp, Parsenn and the Madrisa range to the north provide not only stunning views from our collection of luxury chalets in Davos, but also over 700km of marked hiking trails and 1300km of mountain bike trails, with some steep descents for experienced bikers. The cable car and mountain funiculars can be reached from Davos or the surrounding villages. There is a cable car directly to the Jakobshorn, plus two funiculars that go to two neighbouring resorts, offering just as stunning scenery and walks as you can find in Davos.
